Shivaun’s advice for new (or soon to be) entrepreneurs:

You’re never ‘too old’ to start a business
Outsource as much as you can before you take on the responsibility of hiring people
Don’t spend money on an expensive marketing agencies in the beginning at first, if you don’t know exactly what you need from them
Live below your means
Have fun in everything that you do
Don’t be obsessed with hitting your money goals
Sales is the most important part of your business
I met Shivaun at a sales workshop that he hosted, and both Alina and I were blown away by his quick thinking, raw energy, charisma and his sales chops. He’s been coaching business owners and is busy doubling, tripling (sometimes quadrupling) their revenue.

In Episode 15 of My First Business, Shivaun and I talked about:

How to not ‘oversell’
Changing your life around when you realize all you do is work, work, work
The 3 main elements of a sales pitch (Wow, How & Why Now)
Choosing your tribe
How to break-up in business, amicably
ABQ – Always Be Qualifying
Using stories to light people up
How long meetings should actually be
How to avoid groupthink
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
